In a nutshell: Delia Moss isn’t quite sure where she went wrong. When she proposed and discovered her boyfriend was sleeping with someone else - she thought it was her fault. When she realised life would never be the same again - she thought it was her fault. And when he wanted her back like nothing had changed - Delia started to wonder if perhaps she was not to blame.
From Newcastle to London and back again, with dodgy jobs, eccentric bosses and annoyingly handsome journalists thrown in, Delia must find out where her old self went - and if she can ever get her back.
What I thought: Mhairi McFarlane is an instant buy for me. Her style of writing is hilarious and full of so much heart. I mean with gems like this, what can’t you love! “One night with you and he’s turned into a love-letter writer. You must have an incredible pelvic floor.”
It’s Not Me It’s You features Delia going through an upheaval in her life and re-evaluating what she wants. The romance of this story is everything I would want in a romantic comedy, there is sarcasm, snark, banter and swoon, but the hero of this story is breaking out of your comfort zone and opening yourself up to the possibilities of what might be and what you deserve in life.
